TAB / NEBB Technician (Testing, Adjusting & Balancing)American Air Balance, LLC - Loveland, OHFull-Time | Monday-Friday | Some travel requiredAbout the RoleAmerican Air Balance (AAB) is seeking motivated individuals to join our field team as Testing, Adjusting, and Balancing (TAB) Technicians. In this hands-on role, you'll help ensure commercial HVAC systems perform exactly as designed - balancing airflow, verifying equipment operation, and troubleshooting complex system challenges.We're looking for candidates across three experience levels:Experienced TAB Technicians (NEBB or AABC Certified)HVAC or Controls Technicians with strong mechanical aptitudeEntry-Level Graduates or Trainees ready to learn the TAB tradeIf you're curious about how systems work, enjoy problem-solving, and want a clear career path in a highly specialized field, this role could be an excellent fit.Key ResponsibilitiesPerform testing, adjusting, and balancing of air and hydronic systems to meet design specificationsRead and interpret MEP blueprints, duct layouts, and control schematicsUse digital instruments to measure airflow, static pressure, temperature, and system performanceTroubleshoot field issues involving controls, equipment, or installation errorsPrepare and submit accurate TAB reports in required format and timelinesCoordinate with project managers, contractors, and engineers during on-site workMaintain company equipment and ensure safety standards are followedParticipate in ongoing training and certification programs through NEBBQualificationsRequired:High school diploma or GEDValid driver's license and ability to travel to job sites (local and occasional overnight)Strong mechanical or HVAC aptitudeBasic algebra/math and computer literacy (Excel, Outlook, digital tools)Comfort working at heights and in mechanical spacesPreferred:Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Chemical Engineering or Applied SciencesPrior experience in commercial HVAC service, controls, or commissioningActive NEBB or AABC certification (TAB CT or CP) - or interest in pursuing certificationTraining & Certification PathAAB is a NEBB Certified Firm, and we actively support your professional growth.Trainees begin with field mentoring and NEBB home-study coursework.After ~2 years of experience, you'll be eligible to sit for the NEBB Technician (TAB CT) exam.With additional experience or a technical degree, you can progress toward Professional (TAB CP) certificationNEBB-Candidacy-Pre-Reqs-for-all...TAB TechnicianWhat Success Looks LikeWithin 12 months: working independently, reading blueprints confidently, producing accurate test results, and communicating effectively with site teams.Within 24 months: eligible for NEBB Technician certification and recognized as a trusted, problem-solving field expert.Why Join American Air BalanceCompetitive pay based on experience and certification levelPaid training and NEBB certification supportOvertime opportunities and per diem for travelHealth and dental insurance401(k) plan with company matchCompany vehicle and tools (for field roles)Supportive, team-oriented environment focused on quality and professionalismScheduleMonday-Friday, 7:30 AM - 5:00 PM (hours may vary by project)Occasional evenings/weekends as needed for commercial projectsTravel required (mostly regional; occasional overnight)American Air Balance, LLCPrecision.
