Machinist II
Primary Duties & Responsibilities:Able to perform all Job Responsibilities and Qualifications of a Machinist IMachine flanges to ASME 16.50 specificationsPerform precision work on all turning and milling equipmentFabricate brackets & couplingsMachine valve trim and bodies to critical tolerances as provided by manufacturerFabricate fixtures and jigsAble to research and locate manufacturer drawingsRead and interpret manufacturer drawings and dimensionsAble to remove broken studs and bolts without damaging the integrity of workpieceMill key slots and perform internal broachingCalibration and certification of machining equipment / tools in accordance with internal Quality proceduresMachine ACME, Stub ACME, SAE, and Metric threads (right and left handed)Machine mounting pads for actuatorsProper use of a divider headSupport Machinist I through mentoring and / or on the job trainingUnderstanding and usage of advanced measuring tools (micrometer, depth gauge, calipers, etc.)Introductory learning to cut multiple lead threads (right and left handed)Introductory learning to operate portable machining equipmentPositional Requirements & Qualifications:Education & Experience:HS Education or GED Equivalent a plusMachinist degree preferred2 - 5 years' industry experience as a MachinistJob Knowledge/Requirements:Basic OSHA and TWIC card (TWIC , only if required)Knowledge of applicable internal quality proceduresDemonstrate proficiency in all machining equipment, setup, and operationEffective oral & written communication skillsDemonstrated "can do" attitude and excellent customer service skillsSupervision:Minimal supervision requiredMust be able to travel and have a clear driving record in accordance to company driving guidelinesClear background check and drug/alcohol screeningEssential Physical Functions:Lifting: up to 50 poundsAdjusting or moving objects up to 50 pounds in all directionsLift and carry: 50 pounds for 100 feetBending, stooping, walking and climbing stairsAscending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, rampsMoving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spacesRemaining in a stationary position, often standing or sitting for prolonged periodsMoving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to anotherCommunicating with others to exchange informationRepeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingersOperating machinery and/or power toolsOperating motor vehicles or heavy equipmentAssessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assignedRequired physical ability if mandated by customer or regulatory requirements
