The existing system interfaces with Oracle and SQL Server databases to manage production and product data, generate shipping and product labels with barcode/QR code functionality, and drive thermal printers used throughout manufacturing environments. This role will be responsible for reverse engineering the legacy application, partnering with manufacturing, operations, and business stakeholders to understand production workflows, document business rules, and identify system dependencies. The developer will then design and implement a modern solution primarily using the Ignition platform, including Perspective and Vision applications, database integrations, reporting, production tracking, label generation, and shop-floor workflows. Responsibilities include evaluating existing VB6 functionality, developing scalable Ignition-based solutions, integrating with manufacturing systems and factory-floor data sources, supporting barcode and label printing processes, performing testing and validation, and creating technical documentation. The ideal candidate will have strong hands-on experience with Ignition development, SCADA/MES environments, manufacturing operations, Oracle and SQL Server databases, and industrial automation systems. Experience with thermal printers, barcode/QR code generation, production data collection, and working directly with plant personnel to translate operational requirements into technical solutions is highly preferred.
