The primary goal is to bring the best patient care and experience for our area's children.SUMMARY: Inputs, retrieves, and maintains patient medical records in a confidential and accurate manner following established policies and protocols; supports activities of medical records department. This is a non-exempt hourly position.Essential Accountability And ExpectationsMaintaining a high level of professionalism on the job and projecting this professionalism to the Board, all team members (employed and volunteers), parents/patients, partners and stakeholders at all times. Participating in mandatory training.Creating and maintaining a gossip free environment.Maintain a clean and safe working environment.Knowing, aligning with, and striving to achieve the Organization’s vision and mission statements via the Accountability Creed.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesUses a variety of concepts, practices, policies, and procedures to organize a hybrid medical records system (electronic and paper). Receives and processes all requests for medical records (ensuring proper records release documentation is on file) and the use of electronic methods of securely transmitting patient medical records while adhering to HIPAA and organization policies.Performs scanning, filing, mailing, and retrieval of medical records from the clinic and local facilities/hospitals. Monitors the electronic health records incoming fax queue to process and disseminate documentation. Manages the patient invitation process for the patient portal.Prepares patient charts for upcoming appointments and comprehensive clinics and follows up on outstanding documents and orders placed by providers. Manages and processes system-queued tasks generated from provider note sign-off, such as faxing visit notes and saving clinical summaries and patient education. Checks telephone messages and electronic health records inboxes for pending messages throughout the day and responds within one (1) hour. Purges patient charts per policy or transfers them to offsite storage. Other duties as assigned. Required Education And ExperienceHigh school diploma or GED0-2 years of related experience Knowledge, Skills, And AbilitiesAbility to manage priorities and workflow.Versatility, flexibility, and a willingness to work within constantly changing priorities with enthusiasm.Read and write (legibly)Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions and directions.Physical Demands And Work EnvironmentFrequently required to walk and sit.Frequently required utilize hand and finger dexterity.Frequently required to reach, bend, and lift 15 lbs.Frequently required to drive.LANGUAGE SKILLS: English.Monday-Friday, 8:30am - 5:00pm
