Job Title: Sheet Metal BIM ManagerJob Type: Full-TimeJob Location: Houston, TexasPosition OverviewThe Sheet Metal BIM Manager is responsible for leading the development, coordination, and execution of Building Information Modeling (BIM) efforts for sheet metal and mechanical construction projects. This role ensures that all models are accurate, coordinated, and aligned with project requirements from preconstruction through installation.You will work closely with project managers, detailing teams, field leadership, and other trades to support efficient fabrication and installation processes. Success in this position requires strong technical expertise, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple projects while maintaining quality and schedule expectations.In this role, you will play a key part in improving workflows, resolving coordination challenges, and supporting project teams with constructible, fabrication-ready models. Your contributions directly impact project efficiency, cost control, and overall project success.Key ResponsibilitiesLead BIM coordination efforts for sheet metal systems across multiple projectsDevelop, manage, and maintain detailed 3D models for fabrication and installationCollaborate with project managers, engineers, and field teams to ensure model accuracy and constructabilityRun and participate in coordination meetings with other trades to resolve clashes and design conflictsOversee the creation and distribution of coordinated drawings, spool sheets, and fabrication packagesEstablish and enforce BIM standards, workflows, and best practicesManage model version control and ensure timely updates throughout project lifecycleSupport estimating and preconstruction teams with model-based takeoffs and planningCoordinate with fabrication shops to align models with production capabilities and timelinesAssist in developing installation strategies using BIM for improved field efficiencyTrain and mentor BIM coordinators, detailers, and team membersEvaluate and implement new BIM technologies and software toolsEnsure models meet project specifications, client requirements, and industry standardsSupport project closeout by delivering accurate as-built models and documentationPromote and maintain a strong focus on safety and quality in all BIM-related activitiesPerform additional duties as neededQualifications & RequirementsBachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred (or equivalent experience)Strong experience with BIM/VDC processes in sheet metal or mechanical constructionProficiency in BIM software such as Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, and related coordination toolsExperience with sheet metal detailing and fabrication workflows preferredStrong understanding of mechanical systems and construction sequencingAbility to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environmentExcellent problem-solving and conflict resolution skillsStrong organizational and time management abilitiesEffective communication and collaboration skillsExperience leading teams or mentoring BIM staff preferredKnowledge of fabrication software and integration with BIM is a plusResults-driven with a focus on accuracy, efficiency, and continuous improvement
