Overview In this role you help safeguard mission-critical systems for airborne and ground platforms by applying RMF and DoD guidance. You will work with experienced engineers to implement secure configurations, manage vulnerabilities, and support security documentation. You’ll join cross-functional teams to contribute to defense security engineering and help international allies strengthen cybersecurity. ResponsibilitiesAssist with system categorization and initial control mapping to NIST SP 800-53Support development and maintenance of System Security Plans, POA&Ms, and security evidence repositoriesExecute baseline vulnerability scans and document findings for remediation trackingApply standard configuration baselines and STIG checklists to assigned componentsHelp assemble inputs for Security Assessment Plans and assessment activitiesSupport basic control verification activities and collect test evidence during integration or lab events Key requirementsU.S. Citizen with ability to obtain an Active DoD Secret ClearanceTravel up to 25% of the timeSelf-driven with accountability and ability to deliver quality work on scheduleExcellent written and verbal communicationStrong communication skillsCollaborative mindset with respect for diverse viewpointsActive listening and stakeholder engagementFamiliarity with vulnerability scanning toolsUnderstanding of STIG concepts and basic hardening proceduresKnowledge of system security processes
