Bilingual Peer Counselor
Job TypePart-timeDescriptionAlliance for Community Transformations is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Bilingual Peer Counselor to provide crisis intervention, peer counseling, and case management services to survivors of domestic violence and sexual assault.This position supports clients in both office and shelter settings through trauma-informed care, advocacy, and connection to community resources while ensuring accurate documentation and compliance with program standards.Crisis Intervention & CounselingProvide immediate crisis intervention and emotional support to survivorsDeliver peer counseling to adult and child clientsConduct basic assessments and connect clients to shelter, legal, and counseling servicesProvide referrals to community resourcesMaintain timely and accurate documentation of all servicesFacilitate or co-facilitate support groupsProvide transportation for clients and travel for program services as neededCase ManagementAssess client needs and develop individualized case plansProvide ongoing advocacy with community agencies and service providersSupport clients in achieving self-sufficiency and personal goals Community Outreach & EducationAssist with outreach events, presentations, and trainings on DV/SA awarenessRepresent the organization in community settings Administrative & DocumentationMaintain accurate case files, records, and statistical dataEnsure compliance with confidentiality and organizational policiesParticipate in staff meetings, trainings, and program activities General SupportAssist with special projects and administrative tasksSupport meetings, trainings, and eventsPerform other duties as assigned RequirementsEducation & ExperienceHigh School Diploma or GED requiredAssociate's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field preferredOR at least 2 years of experience in case management, advocacy, or counseling Knowledge, Skills & AbilitiesKnowledge of domestic violence and sexual assault dynamicsCrisis intervention and counseling skillsGroup facilitation experienceFamiliarity with community resources and criminal justice systemsStrong communication skills in high-stress environmentsAbility to maintain confidentiality and professional boundariesBasic computer skills (Microsoft Office, data entry)Strong time management and ability to work independentlyRequirementsBilingual (required)Valid driver's license and reliable transportationAbility to pass background check and fingerprint clearanceSalary Description
