Do you want to work with a leader in the rehabilitation arena, specializing in long term care ? As a Charge Nurse you will assess resident needs, develop individual care plans, administer nursing care, evaluate nursing care and supervise Certified Nursing Assistants (CNAs) in the delivery of nursing care. In this role, you will be involved in hiring, orientation and monitoring the nursing staff and training them to do their best while working closely with doctors, administering medications and maintaining accurate documentation of treatment.Job ResponsibilitiesAs a LVN you will supervise the nursing unit and coordinate the effective use of personnel, supplies, equipment and facilities. Additional responsibilities include:Reviewing staffing patterns and census of nursing units; reassigning personnel when necessary to ensure residents needs and budgetary controls are metManaging and analyzing patient care following admission/readmission ; conducting initial assessment for newly admitted or readmitted patientsAssisting in creating and implementing care plans that address individual residents' needsAdministering medications, IV therapy, gastronomy tube management as well as some wound careMonitoring residents and communicating changes to physiciansEnsuring appropriate documentation of resident care and maintaining medical records to ensure safe, efficient and therapeutic care to residentsTroubleshooting and investigating complaints, taking necessary action to resolve problems as necessary.Additionally, you must have:LVN License, in good standing1 year of experience as a nurse, experience in a long-term care facility preferredEffective communication skillsAbility to organize, prioritize and maintain confidentiality and react decisively in emergenciesExceptional supervisory skills, taking a proactive role to supervising and developing nursing teamExcellent training skills, ability to provide hands-on training to nursing staffGood problem solving and independent thinking skillsCase management skills, comfort with client relationsBenefitsWe are equally committed to both our residents and employees and have created an environment that promotes professional and personal growth.
