Spectra Tech, Inc. is hiring for a Process Control I&C Engineer in Oak Ridge, TN.Position OverviewSpectra Tech is seeking a Process Control (I&C) Engineer to support mission-critical operations at the Y-12 National Security Complex. The selected candidate will provide Instrumentation & Controls engineering support, configuration management, field troubleshooting, and design services for facility control systems operating within a regulated nuclear environment.This position will work onsite under the direction of the assigned manager and support configuration-managed systems, change control activities, engineering design updates, and field implementation efforts.Key ResponsibilitiesProvide Instrumentation & Controls Engineering design support with a primary focus on equipment process control and monitoring systemsSupport software change control and configuration management for facility control systemsDevelop change packages and provide field technical support and system walkdownsSupport programmers and operations personnel during implementation activitiesReview Change Requests (CRs) and determine impacted configuration-managed documentsWalk down affected systems and update engineering documentation to reflect field modificationsTroubleshoot existing systems and develop corrective design solutionsMaintain and revise:Conduit and cable schedulesConduit and equipment plansOne-line diagramsWiring, connection, and schematic diagramsInstrument loop diagramsEngineering calculationsDatasheetsConstruction specificationsSupport both single-discipline assignments and multidisciplinary project teamsEnsure compliance with applicable engineering standards and nuclear facility requirementsRequired QualificationsBachelor of Science in Electrical EngineeringMinimum of 5 years of relevant professional experienceExperience in Instrumentation & Controls Engineering designExperience supporting equipment process control and monitoring systemsDemonstrated experience utilizing:National Electrical Code (NEC)UL508AApplicable ISA standardsExperience supporting:Configuration managementChange control programsEngineering document updatesField troubleshooting and system walkdownsU.S. Citizenship requiredDesired QualificationsExperience in NRC or DOE regulated environmentsUnderstanding of:Conduct of EngineeringConduct of OperationsExperience with Rockwell Automation software including:RSLogixFactoryTalkDOE Q ClearanceAdditional Technical Experience DesiredExperience utilizing ETAP Power Systems Analysis software, including:Power system modeling, design, and analysisSteady-state and short-circuit studiesMotor acceleration analysisEquipment protection and coordination studiesArc flash assessment and mitigationIEEE 1584 arc flash studiesHarmonic analysis and filter sizingSecurity RequirementsU.S. Citizenship requiredAbility to obtain and maintain a DOE Q ClearanceMust meet all site access, badging, training, and security requirementsMust complete required UCNI/CUI awareness trainingAt Spectra Tech, Inc., our recruitment team is powered by real people in real time-personally reviewing every application with care and integrity.
