Shipping and Receiving ClerkNewport News, VAFull-timeEssential Job FunctionsReceive and inspect incoming shipments for accuracy, quantity, and condition; record receipts in the ERP system.Generate and print packing slips, shipping labels, and related documentation from the ERP system for all outgoing orders.Pick, pack, and stage outgoing shipments according to order specifications and customer requirements.Schedule and coordinate pickups with freight carriers, parcel services, or internal transport.Maintain orderly and safe shipping and receiving areas, ensuring materials are properly labeled and stored.Update inventory records and stock locations in the ERP system after shipping or receiving activities.Stocking inventory items in proper locations after receiptCommunicate with production, purchasing, and customer service teams to resolve shipment discrepancies or delays.Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and other warehouse equipment safely and efficiently.Follow all safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.Handling and logging items returned by Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA).Reporting of issues to the Lead Shipping ClerkPerform additional duties as assigned by management. Knowledge, Skills and AbilitiesKnowledge of shipping processes for various carriers used. i.e. UPS, FEDEx, …Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.Proficiency with ERP and shipping software (UPS, FedEx, or freight portals).Basic computer literacy with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook).Ability to read and interpret packing lists, bills of lading, and purchase orders.Excellent communication and teamwork abilities. Ability to lift up to 50 lbs., operate forklifts and pallet jacks, and stand for long periods.Walk Behind Forklift and Pallet Jack operation.Education and ExperienceHigh School Graduate or GED1–3 years of experience in shipping and receiving, warehouse operations, or logistics preferred.Experience generating packing slips, shipping labels, or inventory transactions in an ERP system (e.g., SAP, Sage, NetSuite, Epicor, Oracle, or similar).
