The Senior Cost Accountant should be strategic, a team player with a positive attitude, be proactive, manage complex tasks, and possess a high attention to detail. The Senior Cost Accountant must have the ability to collaborate with peers and management and demonstrate exceptional judgement and a high degree of professional maturity.ResponsibilitiesAssists the Controller with deliverables and deadlines as neededSupports annual standard cost processAssists with calculating and reporting cycle count metrics and related reconciliationsCompletes all monthly reports on a timely basis with zero defectsReviews transactions to insure proper impact on perpetual and G/L recordsReviews variances to determine causeProactively seeks out ways to improve processes and accuracy and drive efficiencyMonitor processes and controls relating to inventory transactions and reporting failures and areas for improvementNatural curiosity to understand workflows and how actions throughout the warehouse impact other areasHistory of taking initiative and being solution-orientedReport on variances from standard costs, understanding root cause and corrective actionsPerforms the monthly accounting close process, balance sheet reconciliations and journal entry postingsSupport compliance with Sarbanes Oxley and related auditsAssists excess and obsolete inventory reviewSupport site payables processOther adhoc requests/analysis/projectsBasic QualificationsFour-year degree in Accounting or Finance required; advanced degree or chartered certification (CMA, CFA, CPA) is a plus.Experience with SAP preferredExceptional analytical skills1 to 2+ Years in Manufacturing Finance with direct costing accounting experience.Knowledge of GAAP and SOXStrong PC skills (Excel, Access, Power-Point) requiredExperience with Hyperion Consolidation tools a plusProven ability to work well in a cross-functional and remote environmentProven ability to manage multiple critical projects in a fast paced environmentProven ability to communicate clearly and concisely across all levels of the organizationTravel & Work Arrangements/RequirementsFully site basedKey CompetenciesAbsolute KEY skills needed for role Cost experience Manufacturing experienceWhat We OfferOur benefits –we ALWAYS include Shares options.At Ingersoll Rand we foster inspired teams.
