Principal Software DeveloperAutodesk is seeking a Senior Software Developer or a Principal Software Developer to join the Architecture, Engineering and Construction (AEC) Data Validation team. AEC Data provides Products, APIs and services that help customers access, use, and share data across their ecosystem. You will help build cloud-based collaboration capabilities across Autodesk design tools.ResponsibilitiesDay to day Hands-on coding to deliver scalable backend services and infrastructureMentor and support developers, fostering a culture of continuous learning and improvementDevelop and maintain reliable, secure, high performance cloud servicesMaintain high code quality through automated deployments, unit and integration testing, and continuous improvement practicesDocument and present technical solutions clearly and thoroughlyAchieving on-time delivery of team commitmentsParticipate in on-call rotations for production systemsMinimum Qualifications8+ years of Software Development experience building enterprise level cloud servicesBS or MS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or equivalent experienceExperience building cloud services using Java for backendStrong understanding of cloud architecture, serverless computing, microservices, infrastructure as code, GitOps, and AWS best practicesHands-on experience with AWS services including ECS, Lambda, API Gateway, DynamoDB, RDS, SQS, and SNS. Event Driven Architecture a plusUnderstanding of security principles, authentication, and authorization mechanismsExperience with relational and NoSQL databases, including data modeling, ORM frameworks, and caching strategiesExperience designing and working with distributed systems and RESTful APIs, including integration with internal and external team APIsExperience monitoring backend performance, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing optimizations for scalability, response times, and resource usageExperience working with CI/CD pipelines such as Jenkins or GitHub ActionsPreferred QualificationsSignificant hands on experience with AI powered development tools such as Claude code, Cursor, Vscode copilot. Familiarity with spec driven development and agentic coding tools
