Motorsports Technician
Job Title: Motorsports TechnicianJob Summary: Riley Technologies Inc. based in Mooresville, NC is seeking motivated and capable Motorsports Mechanics to support the preparation, maintenance, and trackside performance of race vehicles. This is not an entry-level role—candidates must have prior professional, hands-on mechanical experience. Academic projects and student programs alone are not sufficient as primary experience for this position. Opportunities are available for both travel-based roles, supporting race events on the road, and shop-based positions focused on vehicle preparation and development at our facility. This position is ideal for someone looking to grow within a professional motorsports team while continuing to build advanced technical skills.Key Responsibilities:Assist in the preparation and maintenance of race cars for testing and competition Perform routine service tasks and component inspections with minimal supervision Support teardown and reassembly of driveline, bodywork and suspension components Assist with car setup tasks such as body fitment, basic alignment adjustments, and scaling Provide trackside support including pit crew assistance, pre- and post-session inspections, and rapid turnaround work Follow direction from senior mechanics and engineers while proactively identifying issues Maintain tools, equipment, and a clean, organized shop environment Accurately document work performed and communicate mechanical concerns Required Qualifications:2–4 years of hands-on mechanical experience required Working knowledge of core vehicle systems Ability to perform basic repairs and maintenance tasks independently Strong work ethic and willingness to learn in a high-performance environment Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends and travel for race events Valid driver’s license Preferred Qualifications:Previous exposure to automotive shop, motorsports, or racing environments Technical training in automotive or motorsports technology Familiarity with precision tools and measurement techniques Fabrication and/or composite experience (a plus) Key Skills:Solid mechanical foundation with room to grow Attention to detail and consistency Ability to take direction and apply feedback quickly Team-oriented mindset with clear communication Composure under pressure and time constraints Work Environment:High-energy, fast-paced racing environment Long hours and travel required during race weekends Exposure to noise, heat, and outdoor conditions Physically demanding work including lifting, standing, and quick turnaround tasks Compensation & Benefits:Competitive Compensation with an attractive 401(k) retirement planPaid Holidays and generous Paid Time Off (PTO)Comprehensive Medical, Dental, Vision, and Prescription Drug coverageCompany-Paid Short & Long-Term Disability and Life InsuranceOpportunities for advancement within the organization
