Our commitment to integrating excellence throughout the project life cycle sets us apart, delivering automation solutions to businesses ranging from local service providers to international logistics giants.About The RoleWe are seeking an experienced Controls Project Engineer to serve as the technical lead on complex automation and controls projects. In this role, you will own all technical aspects of assigned projects—from PLC programming and electrical system design to testing, commissioning, and documentation. You will act as the subject matter expert onsite, guiding the controls team and ensuring projects are delivered on time, to specification, and in alignment with company standards and customer expectations.This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a hands-on, fast-paced project environment and enjoys leading technical teams in the field.What You’ll DoServe as the technical lead for assigned controls projects, supporting onsite teams through execution and commissioningDevelop, review, and approve PLC programs, electrical designs, and functional design documentation (FDDs)Lead system testing and commissioning, ensuring compliance with specifications, safety standards, and customer requirementsOversee contractors and vendors to ensure quality workmanship and adherence to project scopeIdentify, escalate, and resolve technical issues and roadblocks within defined timelinesCollaborate cross-functionally with project management, engineering, and operations teamsEnsure all checkout and commissioning documentation is complete and accurate prior to project closeoutTravel extensively to project sites (50–70% during peak periods) to support onsite executionEmbrace and promote by incorporating into your work the core values of Aegis: Professionalism: Maintain a positive attitude and strong work ethic.
