Job DescriptionHarrah's Cherokee Casino Resort Position DescriptionPOSITION TITLE: Food Material HandlerDEPARTMENT: The Smokehouse Coop, Banquet, Employee Cafeteria, Selu Garden Cafe, Guy Fieri, Gordon RamseyGRADE/FLSA STATUS: H10-Non-ExemptBADGE TYPE/COLOR:Work Permit - PeachREPORTS TO: Sous Chef, Restaurant ChefSUPERVISES: N/AJOB SUMMARY:Prepare orders, process, and manage food materials and suppliesJOB ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepare orders and enter in computer system for needed food materialsPut away food materials when orders arrivePrepare and maintain reports and recordsMaintain inventory informationDeliver materials as neededKeep storeroom clean and orderlyInspect all assigned areas and coordinates cleaning with the kitchen stewardProvide the highest quality of service to customers and associates at all timesComplete a task, even if overtime is involvedUnderstand local sanitation, health code laws, and weights and measures requirementsEnsure all required logbooks and temperature logs, are maintained and verifiedReceive and examine inventory and supplies to ensure quality and quantity meet established standards and specificationsProperly maintain and store company inventory including utensils, cookware, and machineryShare equipment with co-workersProtect all company assets regarding waste, breakage, and theftAbide by appearance standardsComplete daily shift checklist that is verified by leader before leavingPerform any other duties as requested by shift leaderAdhere to regulatory, departmental and company policies/procedures in an ethical mannerEndorse the business objectives, ethics, and values of Caesars Entertainment in accordance with the Code of Commitment and Mission, Vision, and ValuesMINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High school diploma or GED requiredMust demonstrate the following essential knowledge and skills:Willing to learn and be adaptableAttention to detail/observantDocumented teamwork behaviors and attitudesNeat, professional appearance with excellent personal hygieneAbility to work independentlyPHYSICAL, MENTAL, AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS:Must be able to lift up to 100 poundsMust be able to attend to multiple priorities simultaneouslyMust be able to be on feet for 8-hour shiftMust be able to stoop, bend, reach, kneel, twist and graspMust be able to have exposure to cooler and freezer environmentMust be able to operate forklift, pallet jack and dolliesMust be able to respond to visual and aural cuesMust be able to read, write, speak, and understand EnglishMust be able to tolerate areas containing varying noise and temperature levels, illumination, vibration, crowds, and air quality including secondhand smokeMust be able to work a flexible schedule including weekends, evenings, and holidays
