Network Engineer for Autonomous Systems Data Annotation

Apply Level 3 network support expertise to structure real production network data for AI-driven infrastructure. This hands-on role combines advanced troubleshooting, incident response, and root-cause analysis with an interest in how infrastructure data is prepared for machine learning systems. Key Responsibilities Review data from deployed networks, including logs, configurations, telemetry, and event streams. Label and classify network behavior, issues, anomalies, and incident patterns. Use experience with final escalations, packet analysis, troubleshooting, and root-cause analysis to annotate and organize networking data. Help define schemas and data structures for large-scale pipelines used to train downstream machine learning models. Work directly with the client team. Qualifications Current experience as a Level 3, Tier 3, or Principal Support Engineer responsible for keeping enterprise infrastructure stable, including on-call work, root-cause analyses, final escalations, and outage troubleshooting. Hands-on experience supporting end-customer enterprise networks, such as switching, access points, and firewalls in retail, healthcare, financial services, manufacturing, universities, or hospitality environments. Enterprise Wi-Fi and wireless troubleshooting expertise, including Cisco WLC, Aruba, or Meraki controllers, 802.1X, and RADIUS. Ability to perform packet-level troubleshooting using tools such as Wireshark, tcpdump, and SPAN captures. Interest in how raw infrastructure data is transformed into machine learning inputs and data pipelines. Role Focus This is a maintainer-focused role for engineers with deep production support and escalation experience. It is not primarily suited to candidates whose current work centers on network design or architecture, cloud or SRE, security or SOC operations, or IT helpdesk support. Work Terms Remote, hourly independent contractor engagement. Expected commitment of 30 to 40 hours per week, with working hours overlapping the Pacific Time business day.
