Job Description Job Title: HVAC/R Service Technician Shift 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM.Contract to hire$40 - $50/hour DOEAll work/clients located in the city of Indianapolis.Position Overview: We are seeking an experienced HVAC/R Service Technician with a strong background in commercial refrigeration systems. This role requires a technician who can independently diagnose, service, and repair refrigeration systems from start to finish, including refrigeration lines, evaporator systems, and related components.The ideal candidate is highly skilled in troubleshooting refrigeration issues, understands system pressures and refrigerant flow, and can complete repairs efficiently while maintaining system performance and reliability. Highly confident working on refrigeration systems, capable of diagnosing issues quickly, repairing refrigeration lines and evaporator systems, and restoring equipment to full operation without supervision.Key Responsibilities:Diagnose, troubleshoot, and repair commercial HVAC and refrigeration systemsService and repair refrigeration lines, evaporator lines, condensers, compressors, and expansion valvesPerform leak detection, pressure testing, evacuation, and refrigerant chargingInspect and repair evaporator coils, refrigerant piping, and line setsDiagnose system issues related to refrigerant flow, pressure imbalance, and temperature performanceComplete repairs from initial diagnosis through full system restorationInstall, replace, and repair refrigeration components and pipingConduct preventative maintenance on refrigeration and HVAC equipmentInterpret schematics, blueprints, and refrigeration diagramsEnsure systems meet operational, safety, and performance standardsMaintain accurate service documentation and communicate repair findingsRequired Qualifications:5+ years experience as an HVAC/R Service TechnicianStrong hands-on experience with commercial refrigeration systemsProven ability to diagnose refrigeration system xmcpwfu issues and complete repairs independentlyExperience servicing refrigeration lines, evaporator lines, compressors, and condensersKnowledge of refrigerant charging, evacuation, recovery, and leak detectionAbility to troubleshoot refrigeration pressure, temperature, and airflow issuesEPA Certification requiredValid driver's licensePreferred Qualifications:Experience working with commercial refrigeration equipmentStrong understanding of refrigeration cycle and system diagnosticsAbility to work independently in field service environmentsExperience with walk-in coolers, freezers, and refrigeration rack systems
