Freelance Studio Technician
Fox News Channel is seeking a multi-skilled Freelance Studio Technician to join our DC Bureau. In this role, you will provide technical support for both studio and control room operations. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in studio production and can step into multiple roles as needed, including stage manager, robotic camera operator, teleprompter operator, audio assistant, and video shader.A SNAPSHOT OF YOUR RESPONSIBILITIESWork with technical staff to satisfy production needs for live and pre-recorded programmingAssist stage manager with setting up and breaking down show setsPerform facility checks with A1 and stage manager for all mic and IFB positions in studio before daily production begins, including studio set upProactively assist stage manager in maintaining the integrity of the studio and all associated audio equipmentAssist on-air hosts and guests as needed to facilitate productionOperate teleprompter during live and recorded productionsOperate both robotic and non-robotic cameras consistent with established guidelines for framing, shot composition, timing, and equipment handlingWHAT YOU WILL NEEDBachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent work experienceExperience in a television studio environmentExcellent interpersonal and communications skills requiredMust be a collaborative team player who works well with others in a fast-paced, dynamic, studio environmentMust have solid working knowledge of broadcast languageAbility to work with on-air hosts with various speech patterns and preferencesAbility to work under pressureAvailable to work flexible, non-traditional hours including weekends and holidaysMust be able to lift 25lbs and set/strike studio gearWe are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, sex, national origin, gender identity, disability, protected veteran status, or any other characteristic protected by law.
