Sales Development Representative
DESCRIPTIONHigherMe is looking for a sales development representative who is organized, driven, and passionate about helping business owners solve one of their biggest challenges - hiring good people!As an SDR, you'll be the critical first point of contact between employers and HigherMe. You will be comfortable making cold calls, composing catchy emails, and using creative approaches to get more conversations started, and book more demonstrations of our software.You can handle rejection, navigate through gatekeepers, and tactfully pitch a product effectively to a variety of end buyers - from business owners, to HR generalists, to executives.You've either sold into restaurants before, or have a firm knowledge of how challenging it can be to prospect and sell into this market. There is no single source leads effectively, so a big part of the role is utilizing the resources at hand to find the best information and devise the right strategy to get in!RoleYour job is to book the demo and effectively transition the prospect to an Account Executive who will conduct the demo and close the deal.Each day will be a bit different - you'll have to keep organized and on top of your daily tasksYou'll make 100-200 phone calls a day using an auto-dialer (PhoneBurner)You'll compose and send 100s of emails a day using email outreach software (Outreach.io)You'll, on occasion, canvas local physical businesses looking for "Now Hiring" signs and going in to get informationYou'll effectively research to discover new prospects and new opportunities within the restaurant vertical, and find their contact informationYou'll utilize LinkedIn Sales Navigator, Seamless.ai, and other lead research tools to build your call and email listsYou'll bring your thoughts and ideas to sales team and company meetings, and be part of a team that works together to make everyone successfulThis is a tough, demanding job, but one where you can be incredibly successful, and grow within a sales capacity, and/or break into the startup world and tech industry.Perks & CompensationLocation: If you're in Toronto, we have an office you can work from, but you can work remotely from anywhere in North America - half our team is remote!Pay: starting base salary of $30,000 with expected earnings after commissions and bonuses between $50,000-$60,000 annual. What we're ultimately looking for is the right combination of the following:Knowledge - you have a solid understanding of the restaurant industry, and what kind of challenges a hiring manager faces trying to hire for their business.Drive - you don't need someone else to get you fired up, or to start picking up the phone and calling. You are mentally tough, and won't tire after days or months of constant rejection.Strategic/Tactical Thinking - you should have a good mind for strategy and planning. You need to be able to understand each business before you pick up the phone.What will help:You have to have worked in, managed, or grown up around a restaurant businessUniversity/College Degree or Diploma in Business, Marketing, Psychology, English or similar. You should at least be able to write professional emails, and communicate effectively.Familiarity with a CRM, autodialing system, email outreach system, prospecting tools, Slack.Knowledge of Excel/Sheets is helpful.Love meeting new people. You love talking, but are also an effective listener!Knowledge of QSR brands, franchising, general restaurant trends.1+ years in sales, or sales trainingAre you interested in disrupting a stagnant industry with some cool technology?
