Railcar Repair Lead Technician

Work Schedule: Monday through Friday. Must be flexible to work overtime, nights, and weekends if needed.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Ensures systems and processes are in place to drive safety, quality, and environmental performance by the workgroup
Clearly communicates goals around operating performance while assigning responsibility for tasks and decisions, setting clear objectives and measuring, monitoring processes, progress, and results
Has direct participation in safety meetings and overall training initiatives to model appropriate behavior for our field employees
Performs safety observations in the field to establish high visibility with employees and the customer
Supports field employees with performance problems and helps establish effective corrective actions
Ensures positive recognition is occurring for good performance and personally participate in recognition events where possible
Provides one-on-one and group coaching to field employees and provides support and input to peers on the team
Conducts inspections and general repairs of tank / hopper cars
Job Qualifications / Skills / Abilities:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience and or training
Knowledge of AAR ,FRA and Railinc maintenance standards
Current Welding Certification, Current NDT Certification : Bubble leak test II , Visual / Weld Inspection II
Air Brake Certification (manual / automatic )
Currently has training : VS – I Replacement of service equipment, VS-II Valve rebuild
Familiar with incoming inspections of railcar parts and materials
18 years or older and legally able to work in the U.S.
Stable work history with good references from past employers
Pass a drug screen, physical, and background check
PSC is a veteran-friendly company. Previous military experience and proven ability to follow procedures is a plus
