Come learn more about us at https://flexhighmichigan.org/ How You Will Make an Impact The Student Relations Technician creates and maintains files related to the management of student records, data input, reconciliation, correspondence and public contact. This position will communicate with students and/or parents in appropriate areas of student information, progress, or concerns. This position performs a variety of complex and specialized activities related to student records and all compliance issues related to Full Time Equivalent Pupil Attendance (FTE) and State educational mandates. Front Office/Student Enrollment:Schedule orientation for incoming studentsComply with expulsion, English Language Learner and Special Education Program, reenrollment and reinstatement enrollment protocolsEnsure all required student enrollment paperwork is complete and correctAccurately input student information into the Student Information database system including immunizations, enrollment dates, school track, and supervising teacherProperly issue and track student work permitsProvide quality customer serviceAnswer all incoming telephone calls and handle them in the appropriate manner.File documents in student folders Compliance Program:FTE pupil attendance tracking and recording of work samples for accuracyAudit student work samples as well as all documents that require mandatory compliance (Master Agreement, WSR, Daily Learning Log, Synopsis, Report Cards, etc.)Check report cards for completeness and accuracy before going to the registrarFile student homework awayConduct Orientations for new studentsAssist teachers with problem-solving issues with student records complianceCreate and maintain compliance and FTE pupil attendance checklistsVerify and confirm FTE pupil attendance in the Student Information database system with form and tracking numberSubmit compliance error reports to managementAdministrative duties, responsibilities, and activities may be assigned or changed from time to timeAdherence to attendance policies MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:High School Diploma or General Education Diploma2 years of related business dutiesGood record-keeping techniquesPlanning and organizational skillsGood oral and written communication proficiencyAbility to work independently with minimal directionAble to meet schedules and timelinesAbility to prepare general, statistical and special reportsDetail oriented individual that is systemic in their approach to all assigned tasks PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Mental Demands: ability to process a large amount of data and requestsFinger Dexterity: using primarily just the fingers to make small movements such as typing, picking up small objects, or pinching fingers togetherTalking: especially where one must convey detailed or important instructions or ideas accurately, loudly, or quicklyAverage Hearing: able to hear average or normal conversations and receive ordinary informationAverage Visual Abilities: ordinary acuity necessary to prepare or inspect documents or operate machineryPhysical Strength: sedentary work.
