Learn more about us at macdonaldandowen.comPosition Title: Kiln Dried Lumber BuyerPosition Summary: The Kiln Dried Lumber Buyer is responsible for managing Kiln Dried (KD) lumber sourcing to support sales and inventory needs.Principal Duties and Responsibilities:Conduct business in accordance with M&O’s core valuesBuild and sustain exceptional vendor relationships while meeting purchasing goalsManage time and priorities, ensuring best quality lumber is purchased at the best negotiated rateHold vendors accountable to quality lumber standards, managing claims/credits when requiredManage purchase orders efficiently and effectively, communicating clearly through MacTrac and other toolsCommunicate directly with sales team, logistics, and inventory managers to ensure sourcing activity is congruent with company needsAssist with the improvement of Sales & Purchasing tools and processesOperate within the confines of established Sales & Purchasing budgetAttend and be prepared for meetings congruent with job descriptionEnsure KD quotes are accurate, up to date and available to sales teamContact new vendors to expand contact baseBe prepared for one on one with supervisorConduct self-evaluation at the end of each quarterVisit customers and vendors and strive to improve and expand contact base, aiming for at least two vendor trips per year.Attend high-impact trade shows and conventions and maximize ROIVisit M&O locations for which you predominantly source, approximately two times per year.Language Standards:Must speak, understand, and write fluently in EnglishMinimum Qualifications:Two years of lumber experience (preferred) orTwo years of sales experience (preferred)Basic computer skillsJoin an unstoppable team with an irresistible culture. Pay starting at $60,000/year.Salary will be determined by a combination of factors, including but not limited to education and work experience.
