As a Payroll Specialist, youll help ensure accurate and timely weekly payroll processing for both exempt and non-exempt employees, covering union and non-union populations. In this role, youll work within our enterprise SAP platform to process payroll in-houseno third-party vendor involvedgiving you exposure to the full payroll cycle, compliance requirements, and problem-solving across multiple states and employment structures. Youll collaborate with HR, Finance, and Operations teams to ensure payroll accuracy, compliance, and employee satisfaction. What youll be doing: Payroll Processing & AdministrationProcess weekly payroll for exempt, non-exempt, union, and non-union. Maintain payroll data integrity, including new hires, terminations, transfers, and pay changes. Calculate and enter deductions, garnishments, and adjustments accurately. Prepare and issue paychecks in-house, ensuring accuracy and timeliness. Compliance & ReportingEnsure compliance with federal, state, and local wage and hour laws. Audit payroll transactions to maintain accuracy and compliance. Generate standard and ad hoc payroll reports for Finance, HR, and leadership. System & Process ManagementUtilize SAP ERP for all payroll-related functions. Troubleshoot and resolve payroll discrepancies in partnership with HR and Operations. Recommend and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and accuracy. Employee SupportServe as a point of contact for payroll-related questions from managers. Provide exceptional customer service while maintaining confidentiality. What Were Looking For: Required Qualifications3+ years of payroll experience in a high-volume environment. Strong knowledge of payroll principles, wage and hour laws, and multi-state payroll. Experience with large ERP systems (SAP strongly preferred). High attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook). Preferred QualificationsExperience processing union payroll. Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) or Fundamental Payroll Certification (FPC). Prior experience in food service, hospitality, or large-scale operations. Work Location: This position is based on site at our corporate office in Houston, TX, four days a week, with the option to work remotely one day per week. The office address is 4920 Westway Park Blvd, Houston, TX 77041.Compensation: Compensation for this role ranges from $25 to $28 per hour, commensurate with experience.
