Machine Operator
*Company Overview*
Cirkla develops and manufactures high performance fiber packaging solutions to help global brands reduce plastic in their packaging. We've built a variety of industry-first packaging solutions such as trays for meat, produce and ready meals, dairy tubs, scoops, and more.
*Role Overview*
Cirkla is looking for a *Machine Operator *to run the automated lamination lines at our molded fiber facility in Gainesville. You will operate the line for your full shift - setting it up, keeping it running at speed, checking the product coming off it, and catching problems before they become scrap. The equipment is automated, so this is less about physical work and more about attention: knowing what the line sounds and looks like when it is running right, and reacting quickly when it isn't. Our trays go into direct contact with fresh meat and dairy, so quality and cleanliness standards on the floor are high
*What You’ll Do*
* *Set up and run the line*: Start up, set parameters to the correct specs for the product being run, and operate at target speed for the shift. Shut down and secure the line properly at the end.
* *Monitor the process*: Watch web tension, temperature, pressure and speed on the HMI and on the line itself. Make in-range adjustments and know when something is outside what you should be adjusting.
* *Check quality*: Perform in-process checks on lamination adhesion, trim quality and appearance at the required frequency.
* *Changeovers*: Support tooling and product changeovers, and run first-off checks before releasing the run.
* *Troubleshoot*: Clear jams and misfeeds, correct common faults, and call maintenance when the problem is beyond first-line. Report faults with useful detail — what happened, when, what you tried.
* *Basic maintenance and cleaning*: Daily cleaning, lubrication and operator-level checks, plus housekeeping to food-contact standards in your area.
* *Record what happened*: Log production counts, material used, scrap and downtime accurately, with real reasons. Give a clear handover to the next shift.
* *Work safely*: Follow LOTO, guarding, PPE and safe work practices without exception. Report incidents and near misses immediately.
*Who You Are*
* 3–5 years of hands-on experience in operating plastic thermoforming machines, preferably in packaging or similar manufacturing environments
* Strong understanding of machine operation, maintenance, and basic troubleshooting
* Attentive over a full shift. On an automated line the job is noticing things.
* Comfortable working in a food-contact environment with GMP and hygiene requirements
* Bilingual English and Spanish, and prior experience at a new plant startup are all preferred
*Benefits*
* 401(k) retirement plan
* Health insurance
* Travel reimbursements for work-related travel
* Flexible working hours
* Paid public holidays
* Impact: Be a part of the early team of a business that will create a large meaningful impact on the planet while being profitable
* Culture: People who are super-driven, grounded and nice to work with!
