Nuclear Electrical Design Engineer III

We are seeking a highly skilled Nuclear Electrical Design Engineer III to join our team. Responsibilities
Design, develop, and integrate electrical systems for nuclear power applications, ensuring compliance with industry standards such as NRC.
Develop detailed schematics and PCB layouts using AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, and SolidWorks.
Conduct root cause analysis for electrical system failures and implement corrective actions.
Manage project scheduling to meet technical milestones; coordinate cross-disciplinary teams including mechanical engineers and manufacturing specialists.
Oversee manufacturing processes such as surface mount technology (SMT) soldering and vision inspection systems to ensure quality standards.
Support debugging activities with tools like ohmmeters and oscilloscopes; troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) and ARM-based systems.
Ensure electrical systems meet safety codes and standards such as NEC; review schematics and wiring diagrams for accuracy.
Collaborate with mechanical engineers on integrated system design using Revit and Mechanical Engineering principles.
Contribute to research in quantum engineering applications relevant to nuclear systems.
Qualifications
10+ years of Nuclear experience
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field with extensive experience in electrical systems design.
Proven expertise in FPGA development, PCB layout design, SystemVerilog coding, and firmware development.
Strong knowledge of CAD tools including AutoCAD, Revit, MicroStation, SolidWorks; experience with schematic capture is essential.
Proficiency in simulation software such as MATLAB/Simulink; experience with signal processing techniques is preferred.
Knowledge of electrical standards such as NEC; understanding of manufacturing processes related to electronics assembly.
Ability to perform root cause analysis and debugging of complex electrical systems within a nuclear environment.
Excellent project management skills with experience in project scheduling and cross-functional team collaboration.
Mechanical knowledge relevant to integrated system design is a plus; familiarity with mechanical CAD tools like Revit or Mechanical Engineering principles is desirable. This position requires a detail-oriented professional committed to safety standards and continuous improvement in nuclear electrical systems engineering.

Pay: $82.72 - $84.03 per hour
