Actuary II - Modeling
\u2014 We're seeking a highly skilled and analytical actuary to support their Personal Lines business. This individual will be responsible for developing and maintaining actuarial models that directly contribute to pricing strategies, risk assessment, and overall company performance. The position can be leveled up based on experience and offers remote flexibility.What You Will Be DoingYou will support strategic decision-making by providing accurate and insightful actuarial modeling.Develop and maintain actuarial models in line with CAS principlesEnsure models are up-to-date, accurate, and error-freeServe as the subject matter expert on modeling inputs and conclusionsConduct complex quantitative analyses to support pricing and product developmentCollaborate across departments to align models with business needsIdentify and remediate modeling issues proactivelyPresent findings to senior leadership and stakeholdersRepresent the actuarial team in cross-functional discussions and initiativesWhat You Need to SucceedBachelor’s degree plus professional certifications (e.g., INS 21, 22, 23) or equivalent experience2–3+ years of actuarial experience, preferably in personal linesPassed MAS I and MAS II, or equivalent knowledgeExperience with GLMs and complex insurance data modelingProficiency in SAS or SQLKnowledge of insurance operations and regulatory environmentsStrong skills in Microsoft OfficeAbility to modify existing processes or innovate new onesPreferred QualificationsCalifornia Auto modeling experienceCredit for 4+ exams on the CAS syllabusExperience with Earnix or EmblemProgramming ability in R or PythonFamiliarity with cloud platforms like AWSStrong communication skills and experience working with senior managementWhy You Should ApplyFlexible remote or hybrid work setupPosition level can be adjusted to match your experienceWork on innovative actuarial models impacting major business decisionsEngage with multiple departments and senior stakeholdersBe part of a company that values analytical excellence and professional growthApply now
