Candidates in the Sacramento, CA region preferred but not required.SUMMARY OF FUNCTIONS3Strands Global Foundation (3SGF) is seeking a part-time Finance Operations Contractor to provide day-to-day finance and accounting support to the Director of Finance. This role will own routine bookkeeping, accounts payable and receivable, month-end close support, and finance-related communications, allowing the Director of Finance to focus on audit preparation, board reporting, grant strategy, and financial planning. We envision a world free from human trafficking, where prevention is possible, support is accessible, and communities are united for change.Our work spans three core initiatives:• Prevention Education - Equipping students, educators, industries, and service groups with the knowledge and skills to recognize warning signs, build protective behaviors, and take action.• Direct Services - Offering case management, education, and employment assistance to survivors and individuals at risk, including services through our drop-in center in Sacramento.• Community Engagement - Mobilizing communities, hosting awareness events, and collaborating with policymakers to advance prevention-focused legislation.At 3SGF, our core values shape everything we do:• Integrity - Doing what's right, always, and building trust through accountability.• Collaboration - Partnering with communities and elevating survivor voices to create lasting change.• Empowerment - Honoring each person's story while fostering independence, agency, and choice.• Flexibility - Meeting people where they are, navigating change with compassion and resilience.• Innovation - Embracing new ideas and solutions to drive meaningful, lasting impact.We are a mission-driven, inclusive, and agile team committed to measurable change.SPECIFIC JOB RESPONSIBILITIESAccounts Payable and Receivable• Manage day-to-day AP/AR activity in QuickBooks Online, including invoice and bill generation, transaction entry, and payment processing.• Recategorize expenses and journal entries as needed to maintain accurate books and proper class/grant coding.• Track down missing receipts, backup documentation, and supporting materials from internal staff and external vendors.Month-End Close Support• Support the Director of Finance through monthly close, including transaction recording, account reconciliations, and non-cash account adjustments.• Update internal tracking spreadsheets and reconcile against QuickBooks Online.• Prepare reports and pull documentation as requested for board reporting, audit prep, and grant compliance reviews.Grants and Contracts Support• Prepare invoices, gather backup documentation, and organize digital folders for active grants, contracts, and reimbursement requests.• Support funder and vendor documentation requests, including certificates of insurance (COI), W-9s, and other compliance items.Finance Communications• Triage incoming finance-related emails and Slack messages, responding to routine requests independently and escalating to the Director of Finance when needed.• Maintain professional, timely communication with internal staff, vendors, and funders.Administrative Functions• Maintain organized digital records in Google Drive and other internal platforms.• Comply with all policies, procedures, and protocols of the agency.• Other related duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS• Two or more years of bookkeeping, accounts payable/receivable, or general accounting experience.• Demonstrated proficiency in QuickBooks Online, including AP/AR workflows, transaction categorization, and basic reconciliations.• Strong written communication skills and the ability to manage professional correspondence with vendors, funders, and internal staff.• High proficiency with Google Workspace (Drive, Docs, Sheets) and Microsoft Excel.• Ability to work independently in a fully remote environment, manage competing priorities, and meet deadlines without close supervision.• Available during Pacific Time business hours for sync collaboration.• Ability to pass a background check.• Valid US work authorization.DESIRED SKILLS• Nonprofit finance experience strongly preferred, including familiarity with fund accounting, grant tracking, and restricted vs. unrestricted revenue.• Experience supporting an annual financial audit (pulling documentation, responding to auditor requests, preparing schedules).• Familiarity with Slack, monday.com, or comparable collaboration platforms.• QuickBooks Online ProAdvisor certification or equivalent training.• Attention to detail and ability to organize and track large amounts of information efficiently and accurately.• Sound judgment, ability to take initiative, and strong analytical and problem-solving skills.• Disciplined with priorities and works well under deadline pressure.• High level of honesty and integrity, with the ability to handle confidential financial information.• Personable, professional, and a sustained positive attitude.CULTUREThe individual will represent the agency in a respectful and appropriate manner;
