There are many reasons to build your career at Carter's.Maintenance Apprentice - 85H055Essential Job functions (Tasks, duties and responsibilities most important for the job)Work with experienced techs planning and coordinating the maintenance and repair of conveyors, machines and equipment.Complete necessary training on basic maintenance functionsEnsuring that all work is done in accordance with OSHA regulations and Carter’s safety rulesMaintaining good housekeeping and working well with management, peers and subordinate employees to maximize productivity while minimizing employee conflictMaintenance of facility property, not limited to building grounds, HVAC, generators, sprinkler systems, security systems, etc.SEC SECONDARY FUNCTIONS (IF APPLICABLE - ANY DUTIES NOT CONSIDERED ESSENTIAL)Other tasks as assigned.Knowledge, Skill And Ability Requirements-minimum Compentencies Required For JobMust be able to use all routine industrial hand toolsMust have electrical knowledgeMust be able to read and use tape measures, levels, etc.Must be able to pass equipment training including scissor lift, stock picker, reach truck, pallet truck, and turret truckMust have a valid driver’s license and a good driving recordMust have high school diploma or GEDMinimal level of maintenance experienceMust be able to lift 45 pounds individually and 100 pounds with team assistanceMust be able to walk and climb stairsMust be able to use laddersMust be available to work 14 consecutive days in a row during peak seasonComply with Blackout Periods as determined by ManagementHoliday scheduled to be decided by Management based upon forecastNote:This position description is not intended to be all-inclusive. The duties described may be changed or reassigned at the discretion of management, and the employee may be required to perform duties that are not listed in the position description.Prior Work Experience And Educational RequirementsHigh school diploma or a GED preferred, not required.Six months automated distribution center experience preferred.PHYSICAL and Work DEMANDSMust be available to work in a multi-channel, multi-shift distribution environment, flexible to work different shifts and extended hours based upon business needs.Must be able to stand and work for long periods including daily overtime, holidays and overtime as required. Requires intermittent periods during which continuous physical exertion is required, such as walking, standing, stooping, climbing, lifting material or equipment, some of which may be heavy or awkward.Use approved equipment to access freight and equipment in elevated areas.May work with substances that require special handling.Must be able to repetitively lift cases weighing up to forty pounds.Must be able to work in varying to extreme temperatures. Holiday schedule to be decided by Management.
