Maintenance Lead

This newly created role offers a unique opportunity to step into a key leadership position with end to end ownership of maintenance for a defined production area. The role intentionally combines the responsibilities of a Maintenance Supervisor and a Maintenance Planner, ensuring maintenance activities are well planned, efficiently executed, and continuously improved.
This is a hands on, people leading role for a results driven professional who wants to take ownership, drive reliability, and lead teams toward sustainable performance-rather than simply reacting to day to day issues.
Primary Planning and Start Up Responsibilities
As part of bringing a new facility online, this role will have primary responsibility for maintenance planning and start up execution. Key start up responsibilities include:
Establishing and commissioning maintenance assets within the CMMS
Defining and setting up spare parts, including critical spares identification and inventory strategy
Developing detailed job plans for preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance work
Creating and implementing preventive maintenance (PM) programs for critical assets
Establishing tool repair and tool management processes
Supporting the design and setup of the maintenance shop, including layout, equipment, and workflows
Participating in mechanic onboarding and training to ensure safe, standardized, and effective maintenance practices
Primary Ongoing Production Responsibilities
Own end to end maintenance performance for the assigned production area, including safety, equipment uptime, responsiveness, and work quality.
Plan, prioritize, schedule, and oversee preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance activities to ensure reliable execution.
Lead daily work assignment and follow up; troubleshoot equipment issues alongside technicians while reinforcing planned work and root cause elimination.
Communicate equipment status, repair progress, and follow up actions across shifts and with Operations.
Coordinate OEMs, contractors, and vendors to support repairs and major maintenance activities.
Develop and maintain effective job plans and PMs; manage backlog health, work order aging, and planned vs. unplanned work balance.
Utilize the CMMS (SAP / Maximo) to maintain accurate asset data, work orders, and maintenance history.
