This highly visible leadership role is responsible for driving execution consistency, operational discipline, and continuous improvement across a multi-branch rental operation serving the construction, industrial, infrastructure, and energy industries.Job SummaryIn this role, you’ll partner closely with Branch Operations, Service, Fleet, Heavy Rents, Sales, and Central Operations teams to improve operational performance, eliminate inefficiencies, and strengthen execution consistency across the business.Key ResponsibilitiesOperational Standardization & ExecutionDrive adoption and compliance with standard operating procedures across branches, yards, shops, and dispatchIdentify execution gaps and variability across locations; lead corrective action plans with branch leadershipSupport rollout and reinforcement of new operating models, workflows, and process changesAct as a field-facing execution leader—present in branches, yards, and operations regularlyPerformance Improvement & Continuous ImprovementLead continuous improvement initiatives targeting cost to serve, delivery execution, turnaround time, and labor productivityPartner with branch and regional leaders to improve Rev/FTE, GM/FTE, and operational throughput metricsApply Lean / Six Sigma concepts pragmatically to eliminate waste and friction in daily operationsTrack initiative progress and ensure benefits realizationCross-Functional EnablementPartner with Fleet and Central Ops to ensure operational readiness, availability logic, and execution alignmentSupport Service and Heavy Rents in improving repair cycle time, dispatch effectiveness, and job execution flowCollaborate with Pricing, Sales, and Finance leaders to ensure execution aligns with revenue and margin objectivesReporting & GovernanceDevelop and maintain execution scorecards and dashboards tied to operational KPIsMonitor leading indicators and surface risks early to Operations and Executive leadershipDrive accountability through clear ownership, follow-up, and execution cadenceSupport monthly operating reviews with data-driven insights and recommendationsQualificationsEducationBachelor’s degree in Operations Management, Engineering, Business, Finance, or a related fieldLean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement certification preferredExperience7+ years of experience in operations, operational excellence, or continuous improvement rolesExperience in equipment rental, industrial services, logistics, construction, or asset-intensive environments strongly preferredProven track record of driving execution improvements across multiple locations or teamsExperience directly managing teams and developing employeesSkills & CompetenciesStrong operational analytics and problem-solving capabilityAbility to influence without authority across branches and functional teamsPractical application of Lean / CI principles (not theoretical)Strong communication and change management skillsHigh comfort working in the field and with frontline teamsAttributesExecution-oriented and results-drivenStructured, disciplined, and data-focusedComfortable challenging the status quoHigh ownership mindset with strong follow-throughThis role plays a critical part in supporting Mustang Rental Services’ continued growth by improving execution consistency, operational efficiency, and profitability across the organization.
