Job Summary:

The Academic Affairs, Student Affairs, and Equity (AASAE) unit within the University of Massachusetts Office of the President offers a paid internship for current University of Massachusetts students (students attending any of the five UMass campuses). We seek talented individuals eager to learn, adapt, and take on new challenges. As an intern, your contributions will be instrumental in helping our organization grow and succeed.
Our ideal candidate is curious about the world and finds it easy to walk into a room and make new friends-someone interested in education, data visualization, and data analysis. This internship offers a unique opportunity to further explore higher education, research, and data analysis. You will gain invaluable experience in a professional environment and have the chance to network with other professionals in the higher education field.
This part-time internship has a pay rate of $17 per hour. In addition to being paid, academic credit may also be available.
Essential Functions:
Collect and review institutional metrics related to admissions and enrollment, academic programs, faculty and staff, and alumni.
Generate statistical analyses to inform strategic initiatives.
Participate in meetings and workshops to discuss findings and insights with the AASAE team.
Analyze and present key qualitative and quantitative data for AASAE leadership.
Document and maintain datasets, ensuring accuracy and integrity.
Assist in preparing reports and presentations for internal and external stakeholders.
Help develop tools and processes to improve operational efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications (Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Education, Experience):
Current UMass student enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program of study.
GPA 3.0 or higher.
Creative, eager to learn, motivated, and willing to take the initiative on assigned projects/tasks.
Reliable and detail-oriented with a strong ability to multitask, stay organized, and meet deadlines.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Must be well organized, detail-oriented, and possess good follow-up skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise discretion when interacting with staff.
Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint).
Knowledge of data visualization and Business Intelligence platforms preferred (e.g., Tableau).
Working Conditions:
Hybrid work environment. Primarily located at the UMass President's Office located at One Beacon Street, Boston, MA with remote work.
