We're ready tolight the way, will you join us?About the RoleAs the Director of Human Resources, you will lead the development and executionof people strategies that create a thriving, inclusive workplace. This roleoversees HR, Payroll, and Talent & Culture operations; ensures compliance withemployment laws across multiple states; and champions employee engagement whilealigning all HR initiatives with Cochran's mission, values, and long-termbusiness objectives.Essential Duties & ResponsibilitiesStrategic Leadership & Culture BuildingServes as a trusted advisor to leadership, balancing organizationalneeds with employee well-being.Partners with the Senior Management Team on roadmap planning, companyinitiatives, and change management.Employee Relations & Conflict ResolutionProvides empathetic, strategic guidance to leaders and HR/Payroll teamsin navigating complex personnel matters.Oversee investigations, conflict resolution, disciplinary actions, andterminations with integrity and care.Upholds integrity in all HR records, ensuring documentation isrespectful, consistent, and aligned with company values.Oversee matters related to Union/Collective Bargaining Agreement.Occasional travel as needed to regional offices for support andoversight.Compliance & Policy DevelopmentEnsures adherence to federal, multi-state, and local employment andpayroll laws and regulations.Develops and maintains HR policies and procedures that reflect bestpractices and legal standards.Stays informed on HR trends, regulatory changes, and industrybenchmarks.Oversee completion and submittal of the annual EEO-1 Component 1 reportin compliance with federal equal employment regulations.Partners with legal counsel as needed.Compensation & Benefits AdministrationOversee compensation and benefits programs, including health, dental,disability, life insurance, and leave policies.Responsible for the administration of the company 401(k) plan.Reviews and updates pay scale bands to ensure equity, transparency, andmarket competitiveness.Develops and oversees the department budget.Team Leadership & DevelopmentProvides leadership and mentorship to the HR, Payroll, and Talent &Culture teams, fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, andcontinuous professional development.Oversees recruitment, engagement, and employee development efforts toensure an inclusive, values-aligned workplace experience.Supports internal training and development initiatives to buildorganizational capability.Models company's core values in daily interactions and decision-making.Communication & AdvocacyBuilds trust through clear, compassionate communication across alllevels of the organization.Maintains a high degree of confidentiality and professionalism in all HRmatters.Advocates for employees and leadership, ensuring fair representation andthoughtful resolution.In this role, you will have the opportunity to:Apply practical problem-solving by identifying issues quickly andimplementing effective solutions with confidenceDeliver responsive and supportive service by addressing team estimatingneeds and pricing requests with reliability and follow-throughStrengthen technical expertise through continuous learning and proactiveskill developmentCommunicate clearly and persuasively, both in writing and speaking, whileadapting messaging for different situations and audiencesFoster a collaborative work environment by contributing to a positive,team-first cultureEnsure accuracy and drive continuous improvement by maintaining high qualitystandards and seeking opportunities to enhance processesDemonstrate strong leadership skills by providing clear directions,expectation setting, and consistently encouraging participation of team membersWe are looking for someone with the following competencies:7+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with a track record instrategic advising and culture building.SHRM-SCP or SPHR preferred.Extensive knowledge of employment law, compliance, and policy development.Experience with Union/Collective Bargaining Agreements preferred.
