Data Scientist

Team OverviewAtlanticus is looking for an experienced and passionate senior data scientist in our Risk Managementteam. This role will partner directly with collection, operations, marketing and other business partnersacross the business to research, develop, deploy and continuously improve the machine learningsolutions to drive growth and improve user experience for our customers.ResponsibilitiesAs a member of the Customer Modeling Data Science team within Risk Management,develop machine learning algorithms and statistical models to optimize operationsefficiency, drive effective marketing and personalized customer experience. Be constantly curious and continue to pursue in-depth explorations of our datasets. Collaborate with key stakeholders to understand the business problems, ideate MLsolutions and effectively communicate to stakeholders. Research, develop and apply ML/AI solutions to solve business problems, includingprediction, optimization, segmentation and so on. Partner with Operations, Collections and Marketing team to develop and deploy MLsolutions into business processes.Continuous monitoring and evaluating model performance and communication to therelevant stakeholders. Conduct model related analyses to provide comprehensive insights about ML solutionsRequired Skills MS/PhD or equivalent experience in quantitative field such as Mathematics, Statistics,Computer Science or other STEM fields. 3+ years of industry modeling and machine learning experience such as clustering,linear and logistic regressions, random forest, gradient boosting machines (GBM),support vector machines (SVM), neural networks (e.g., ANN, RNN, CNN). Must havemultiple, robust examples of using these techniques to build ML-driven products tosolve business problems eg. prediction, optimization, segmentation and so on. 5+ years experience as an ML scientist with proven ability in developing ML models inPython, R, PySpark or Java. Expert-level knowledge of SQL with strong data exploration and manipulation skills. Experience using cloud platforms such as GCP and AWS for model development andoperationalization is preferred Ability to communicate your ideas/code clearly to business stakeholders. Enjoy working with multiple levels and teams across organizations (engineering,operations and marketing teams etc.) Effective verbal/written communication, and technical presentation skills.
