JOB DESCRIPTION Job Title: Assistant Teacher SUMMARY The Assistant Teacher shall be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and support of students. They are responsible for providing quality care and support to all students. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO: Assist in the implementation of daily program activities Meet the appropriate educational and emotional needs of the children by providing care and guidance. Provide and assist in personal hygiene practices, including toileting i& diapering ssues as necessary. Daily documentation of each child as necessary to assure quality care. Participate in parent conferences to address questions regarding the child’s progress and any concerns the parent may have. Provide a safe, structured, and educational environment Aide in compliance with all State laws and Local regulatory rules Perform other related duties as required or assigned QUALIFICATIONS Technologically Proficient Excellent customer service skills Effective communicator both oral and written FBI fingerprint, PA Criminal Background Check, Drug Screen, Physician Approval Ability to work independently and as a competent team player Capability of lifting without restrictions FBI fingerprint (as required), PA Criminal Background Check, Child Abuse Clearance, Drug Screen, Physical EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Associate’s degree (preferred). High School Diploma or GED equivalent required. At least one (1) year of experience working with children. HOURS OF WORK Full Time, possible weekends LANGUAGE SKILLS Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals and work instructions. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak and communicate well with customers and staff. OTHER SKILLS AND ABILITIES Technologically Proficient Must have customer service skills and able to work independently CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS First Aid and CPR certified PHYSICAL DEMANDS The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
