Farmhand / Livestock Farm Worker – Full Time Brushy Prairie Packing (working on-site at Gunthorp Farms) Full-Time | 6 Days/Week Job Overview Brushy Prairie Packing is hiring a reliable, hands-on Farmhand to support daily livestock and farm operations. This role focuses on feeding, animal care, and general farm maintenance. If you enjoy physical work, working with animals, and seeing the product of your own efforts, this may be a great fit. Schedule (varies slightly by season, some flexibility exists on specific hours) Monday: 6:00 AM – 4:00 PM Tuesday–Friday: 8:00 AM – 4:00 PM Saturday: 8:00 AM – 12:00 PM Key Responsibilities Grind and manage feed for gestating sows and market hogs Catch, move, and handle pigs as needed Bed market hog pens and maintain animal comfort Wean sows Consolidate and vaccinate market hogs Repair and maintain fences, feeders, shelters, and waterers Assist with farm projects such as pen prep, repairs, and general maintenance Ensure animal wellbeing Equipment You’ll Use Tractors Feed grinder Hay wagon Loader tractor Chainsaw Requirements Reliable transportation Ability to lift 50 lbs Ability to stand and work on your feet for long periods Comfortable working outdoors in all weather Experience with farm or heavy equipment preferred Ability to back up a trailer Willingness and ability to work with livestock Job Type: Full-time Pay: From $19.00 per hour Expected hours: No less than 40 per week Benefits: Employee discount Work Location: In person
