In line with the mission and values mentioned above, California Casualty is currently looking to add to its existing team with aHome Office Consultant Managerand we hope that might be you!TheHome Office Consultant Managerplays a critical leadership role within Claims, overseeing the Claims Consultant function and partnering closely with Service Centers to ensure consistent, high-quality, and compliant handling of complex claims. This role blends deep technical expertise, strong people leadership, and sound strategic judgment to protect our customers while preserving the organization’s financial strength.ResponsibilitiesLead the day-to-day operations of the Claims Consultant unit, ensuring timely, accurate, and compliant handling of complex and high-exposure claims.Provide expert guidance and decision making on claims that exceed Service Center authority, including coverage interpretation and application of policy language within a complex legal and regulatory environment.Serve as a trusted advisor to Service Centers by consulting on claims operations, addressing escalated concerns, and recommending process improvements that enhance quality, efficiency, and customer outcomes.Lead and participate in strategic round table reviews of claims in collaboration with Claims leadership to evaluate strategy, exposure, and risk in support of sound outcomes.Plan, conduct, and oversee procedural and special audits of Service Centers to evaluate compliance with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards.Present audit and quality assurance findings and insights to leadership, and partner with stakeholders to drive corrective actions and continuous improvement.Champion a culture of continuous improvement across claims and quality assurance by identifying inefficiencies, evaluating emerging practices, and implementing innovative solutions that enhance quality, compliance, efficiency, and customer outcomes while protecting the company’s financial integrity.Recruit, develop, and retain a high-performing team by setting clear expectations, aligning goals, providing regular feedback, and supporting professional development.Champion policy development and ensures alignment and compliance across teams.Foster a culture of trust, accountability, and continuous improvement aligned with California Casualty’s values and commitment to service excellence.Perform additional duties as needed, including supporting cross-functional initiatives, training, mentoring, and temporary higher level responsibilities for developmental or business needs.Qualifications Business Experience:Eight or more years of personal lines claims experienceFive or more years of supervisory experience in a personal lines claims environment or related leadership, mentoring, coaching, or training roleExperience handling personal lines claims in the State of CaliforniaDemonstrated experience in personal lines claims handling, including litigation, complex coverage analysis and high exposure claimsExperience partnering with operational teams and influencing outcomes across multiple locations or functionsAudit, compliance, or quality assurance experience within a claims environment preferredAbility to obtain and maintain required state insurance licensesProfessional insurance designations such as AIC, FCLA, SCLA, or CPCU are preferredSkills & KnowledgeStrong knowledge of insurance policy interpretation, claims best practices, and regulatory considerationsProven decision making and risk assessment skills with the ability to balance customer impact and financial integrityEffective leadership, coaching, and communication skills capable of influencing at all levels of the organizationAnalytical mindset with a focus on process improvement and operational excellenceAbility to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, evolving environmentEducation:High school diploma (bachelor’s degree preferred)The pay range for this position is $103,168 - $165,110 annually; however, base pay offered may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills and experience.
