Position OverviewThe Entry-Level Security Technician is a hands-on field role responsible for assisting with the installation of security and low-voltage systems. This role is designed for individuals looking to build a career in the industry through structured training, real-world experience, and clear advancement opportunities.You will work alongside experienced technicians to learn installation standards, cabling practices, and system fundamentals while contributing to active job sites. Roles and ResponsibilitiesInstallation & CablingPull, route, and secure cabling including Cat6, Cat6A, access composite, fiber optic, and other low-voltage wiring Follow company cabling standards, including: Proper support (J-hooks every 5 feet) Clean routing and dressing Service loops at field and head-end Labeling both ends of all cables Assist with installation of: Access control systems Video surveillance systems Alarm systemsTermination & TestingTerminate RJ45 connectors, jacks, and patch panels Assist with cable testing and certification Learn proper use of tools including testers, multimeters, and punch tools Jobsite ExecutionRead and follow blueprints and installation drawings Maintain clean, organized, and professional job sites Follow all safety procedures including ladder safety and tool usage Documentation & CommunicationAccurately document time, notes, and photos in ConnectWise Communicate clearly with team members and leadership Experience & QualificationsRequired:Strong work ethic and willingness to learn Ability to work in construction environments (ladders, ceilings, lifts) Ability to lift 50+ lbs Valid driver’s license Reliable, daily transportation to and from the office and assigned job sites (this position may provide a take-home vehicle at the discretion of the Company) Preferred:Any construction, electrical, or low-voltage experience Basic familiarity with hand tools What Success Looks LikeConsistently follows installation standards Produces clean, labeled, and testable work Demonstrates steady skill progression Advances toward Level 2 Technician within 6–12 months Why Join PHD TechClear career path with defined technician levels Hands-on training aligned with real job requirements Strong team environment with accountability and support Opportunity to grow into advanced technical roles
