Software Engineer

Current is seeking a software developer to join our progressive and dynamic fast-paced enterprise software team. These are exciting times - our industry and user expectations are changing and so are we! We are developing the next generation of world class Internet of Things (IoT) connected lighting controls and building management system. This is a hands-on development role that will directly contribute to the development and expansion of our cutting-edge cloud connected IoT applications and offerings with the latest software technologies and tools.This is an onsite role at our engineering design center located in Round Rock, TX. We are looking for a talented and creative problem solver. You will be involved in the complete software development life cycle, seeing your work evolve from epics and user stories into a finished software application in a hybrid agile environment. This will require a high degree of collaboration between highly talented, cross-functional and geographically dispersed development teams. You will work closely with industry-best product owners, UX designers and other development team members to understand the business needs, propose, architect and develop end-to-end software solutions.Essential Functions Develop high-performing and reliable software components and web applications with C#.NET and AngularWork and collaborate with other software and hardware design team members to develop innovative products and applicationsParticipate in the definition of system functional requirementsResearch, assess and adapt to new technologies necessary for future enhancements of productsDevelop high-performance and reliable software products and servicesProtect intellectual property through patent disclosures and applicationsBasic Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited University8 years+ of software development experience with web-based applications8 years+ of hands-on experience with back-end technologies – C#.NET, node.js8 years+ of hands-on experience with front-end technologies – HTML/JavaScript, Angular 18+Minimum 5 years' of experience defining and using SQL to manipulate application dataMinimum 5 years' of experience developing for the Linux/Ubuntu platformMinimum 5 years' of experience deploying to the cloudPreferred Qualifications Bachelor of Science in Computer Science or closely related disciplineWorking knowledge of database design, SQL Queries, and transactionsExperience developing JavaScript dashboarding and reporting solutionsWorking knowledge of design patterns and best coding practicesSound understanding of Agile development processesKnowledge of server configurations, including Nginx and Apache configurationsExperience programming in C/C++Knowledge of cyber security vulnerability mitigationExperience working with geographically dispersed teamsPosition Criteria Working knowledge of development best-practices, methodologies, processes, and technologiesExpert ability to apply analytical and problem-solving skillsExcellent verbal and written communication skillsAbility to support and influence technical decisionsAbility to work both independently and within a team
