Senior Highway Project Manager

The Senior PM will begin the project life cycle by identifying leads and marketing efforts on targeted areas of growth. Each employee owner has access to a rich benefits package to ensure personal needs are met.Essential Functions and ResponsibilitiesGeneralManages project(s) in accordance with scope, schedule, and budgetCollaborates across disciplines and with teaming partners to develop a risk averse project scope and feeDevelop project specific deliverables (plans, specifications, estimate, and other required documentation)Implement and maintain Project Management Plans and QA/QC during project lifecycleCreate and maintain project schedulesManage subconsultantsMonitor and execute project progress, including identifying and mitigating risk, developing extra work order requests and open-end contract task proposalsCommunicate project status updates and items of note to internal and external stakeholdersParticipate in office's project financial status meetingsBuild relationships with clients to understand preferences and requirements to set-up and execute a quality projectPrepare progress reports and review invoicesDevelop and lead in project status reports and presentationsFacilitate an office culture of caring about clients, staff, community, quality, and safetyMarketing & Business DevelopmentAssist Section Heads, Office Leaders, and Practice Leaders with the marketing process including, SMART Go/No Go decisions, proposal development, interviews, and developing a win strategyCollaborating with Section Head and Office Leader on identifying leads and opportunities based on strategic goalsAssist Section Head and Office Leader with developing strategic goals based on client's program information, etc.Develop and maintain a strong network of clients and other industry stakeholdersProject OversightCoordinate and guide all technical resources within the project team to ensure the delivery of a high-quality outcomeLeverage advanced knowledge and experience with the client and project type to analyze the project, anticipate potential risks (such as overruns and scope changes), and implement effective mitigation strategiesImplement strategies for project tracking and reporting by using project performance metrics to foresee and mitigate issuesStaff Mentorship* Providing coaching and mentorship to the project team through one-on-one check-in meetings and various project debriefs to acknowledge achievements, identify areas for improvement, and share lessons learned* Lead and manage team members by providing leadership and continuous performance management (setting expectations, goals, feedback, 1:1 meeting, coaching) that supports the growth and development of teamNonessential Functions and Responsibilities* Perform other related duties as assignedRequired ExperienceBachelor's degree in civil engineering or a related field from an ABET accredited engineering programProfessional Engineer's Texas License15+ years of experienceProficient in Microsoft OfficeStrong Communication SkillsStrong Presentation SkillsBusiness development experiencePreferred ExperienceExperience working with local clientsExperience with multiple project delivery methods i.e. Design-Bid-Build, Design-Build, P3Experience managing multidiscipline project teamsWorking ConditionsWork is performed within a general office environment 95% of the time. Work is generally sedentary in nature but may require occasional standing and walking. Lighting and temperature are adequate and there are no hazardous or unpleasant conditions caused by noise, dust, etc. within the office environment.Field work is required on occasion where work may be conducted outside in heat/cold, wet/humid, and dry/arid conditions.
