Ready to Start Your Career with the City of Temple?SummaryThe Foreman II is responsible for the supervision and efficiency of technical staff in daily maintenance and repair of city vehicles and equipment. Serves as the liaison between internal departments and coordinating warranty/sublet repairs. Recommends and initiates personnel actions and performs a variety of technical tasks related to the assigned area of responsibility. Must be able to lift tools/parts up to 75lbs.Essential Duties And ResponsibilitiesSupervises technical staff in the completion of repairs and maintenanceServes as primary customer service representative for the ShopCoordinates and recommends procedures for facility and equipment maintenance, modification, including replacementsCoordinates outside warranty and repair workReviews invoices, work orders, consumption reports, and forecasts to estimate peak delivery periods and assigns workDemonstrates continuous effort to improve operations, decreases turnaround times, streamlines work processes to provide quality seamless customer serviceEnsures targeted productivity goals & standards are metEnsures technicians take required training and maintain certification complianceInspects operational areas for adherence to safety standardsOpens, closes and updates work ordersSupervises, evaluates, resolves grievances, and makes recommendations to hire and dischargeInstructs and trains mechanics in the repair and reconditioning of automobiles, trucks, tractors, graders, sweepers, mowers, and other specialized equipmentPerforms inspections of completed repairs to ensure quality of repairMonitors spending to ensure that expenses are consistent with approved budgetFollows City policies, procedures, and safety guidelinesPerforms other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh school diploma or equivalentThree (3) years of experience in maintenance and repair of diesel engines, mechanical equipment, or related areaTwo (2) years of experience in supervisory rolesRequired to furnish own hand toolsCertifications and LicensesASE certification T4, T5, and T8 ASE certification T6 and T7 or ability to obtain within one (1) year of hireEPA Section 609 CertificationValid Commercial Driver LicenseThank you for your interest in the position.
