Job Title: Senior Business Systems Analyst - Card Operations (Debit/Credit Card)Location: Phoenix, AZ (Onsite)Duration: Long-Term ContractWork Authorization: USC / GC ONLYJob OverviewWestern Alliance Bank is seeking a Senior Business Systems Analyst (BSA) with proven expertise in Card Operations (Debit/Credit Card) to support key strategic initiatives in the payment processing domainThe successful candidate will have strong knowledge of card systemspayment networks, and transaction processing platforms (Visa, Plus, Star, Moneypay), along with hands-on experience in FIS and TSYS global payment products. This is an onsite role requiring deep business and technical acumen to bridge stakeholder needs with system capabilities.Key ResponsibilitiesCollaborate with stakeholders, product managers, and IT teams to gather and analyze business requirements related to card operationsDefine and document functional and technical specifications for debit/credit card systems.Act as a liaison between business and technology teams, ensuring alignment on requirements, workflows, and deliverables.Partner with payment network providers (Visa, Plus, Star, Moneypay) and vendors (FIS, TSYS) to ensure seamless system integrations.Support end-to-end transaction processing lifecycle, including settlement, reconciliation, chargebacks, fraud detection, and dispute management.Participate in system configuration, testing, and validation to ensure accuracy, compliance, and efficiency.Ensure compliance with banking regulations, PCI-DSS standards, and payment industry best practicesProvide subject matter expertise to support operational improvements, risk reduction, and strategic growth initiatives in card services.Mandatory Skills & Experience10+ years of experience as a Business Systems Analyst in Banking / Financial Services, with strong focus on Card Operations (Debit/Credit).Hands-on expertise with Visa, Plus, Star, and Moneypay payment networks.Strong experience with FIS and TSYS global payment productsIn-depth knowledge of payment processing workflowsauthorization, clearing, settlement, chargebacks, reconciliation, fraud prevention, and disputes.Strong skills in requirements gathering, documentation, and stakeholder managementAbility to translate business needs into technical specifications and work closely with development/QA teams.Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skillsPreferred QualificationsExperience in core banking platforms and their integration with card systemsKnowledge of regulatory compliance in payments (e.g., PCI-DSS, NACHA, FFIEC).Strong SQL and data analysis skills for transaction/data validation.Prior experience in large-scale card system migration or modernization projectsWhy Join?Opportunity to work with a leading bank on cutting-edge payment initiativesHigh visibility role directly supporting mission-critical card operationsCollaborative environment with strong career growth potential.
