Full job descriptionMagTec Alaska is seeking a highly experienced Supply Chain & Procurement Manager to lead and optimize procurement, vendor management, and logistics operations across multiple Alaska locations. This role is responsible for developing sourcing strategies, improving purchasing efficiency, managing freight and transportation logistics, and establishing scalable processes to support oilfield operations.This is a hands-on leadership role requiring both strategic thinking and operational execution in a remote, logistics-heavy environment.Key ResponsibilitiesStrategic Procurement & SourcingDevelop and execute procurement strategies to optimize cost, quality, and availability of materials, equipment, and servicesSource and establish relationships with vendors across Alaska and the Lower 48Negotiate pricing, contracts, and service agreements to leverage company-wide buying powerIdentify opportunities for cost savings, standardization, and vendor consolidationLogistics & Freight Management (CRITICAL for Alaska)Manage inbound and outbound freight, including coordination to remote and North Slope locationsEvaluate and optimize freight providers (air, sea, trucking, barge)Develop cost-effective logistics strategies considering Alaska’s seasonal and remote challengesMonitor freight performance, costs, and timelinesProcess Development & SystemsDesign and implement procurement processes, policies, and controlsImprove purchasing workflows, inventory management, and tracking systemsEnsure consistency across multiple locations (Anchorage, Kenai, North Slope, etc.)Establish reporting metrics (cost savings, vendor performance, lead times)Vendor & Relationship ManagementBuild and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and service providersEvaluate vendor performance and ensure compliance with contract termsSupport operations teams with sourcing critical and time-sensitive materialsLeadership & Team Development· Build, mentor, and develop a high-performing procurement team to support company-wide operations· Train team members on procurement best practices, systems, and processes· Establish clear roles, expectations, and performance standards across the purchasing function· Drive accountability and continuous improvement within the teamEnd-to-End Purchasing OwnershipOversee and optimize the full procurement lifecycle from purchase request through purchase order (PO) closureEnsure efficient processing, tracking, and completion of all purchase requests and ordersIdentify bottlenecks and implement improvements across the purchasing workflowEnsure accuracy, compliance, and proper documentation throughout the procurement processCollaborate with operations and finance to ensure timely delivery, invoicing, and closeoutQualifications2+ years of procurement, supply chain, or logistics experience (oilfield, industrial, or remote operations preferred)Strong experience managing vendors, contracts, and negotiationsExperience with freight/logistics in Alaska or remote environments strongly preferredProven ability to build processes and improve operational efficiencyExperience supporting multi-site operationsLeadership or supervisory experience preferredPreferred Experience (Alaska / Oilfield Specific)North Slope or remote camp logisticsOil & gas, construction, or industrial support servicesExperience with seasonal access, weather delays, and remote freight planningKey Traits for SuccessProblem solver in complex logistics environmentsStrong communicator across field and office teamsAble to operate both strategically and hands-onComfortable building structure where none existsBenefits:401(k)Dental insuranceHealth insuranceLife insuranceRetirement planPeople with a criminal record are encouraged to applyApplication Question(s):Please list 1–3 references with name, relationship, phone and emailExperience:Procurement: 2 years (Preferred)Work Location: In person
