Now Hiring: Survey Instrument Operator (MEP) Florida | Full-Time | $70,000–$75,000 annually (DOE) We’re looking for a skilled Survey Instrument Operator with a strong electrical construction background to support all phases of MEP surveying and layout on active commercial projects. This role is critical to jobsite accuracy and efficiency and works hands-on with Trimble Total Station technology. If you have experience in electrical layout, construction surveying, and field coordination, this is a great opportunity to step into a stable, high-impact role. Position Summary The Survey Instrument Operator supports construction site, deck, and interior layout using Trimble robotic Total Stations and software. You’ll work closely with electrical and MEP teams to ensure precise layout, accurate data capture, and smooth field execution. What You’ll Do Set up, calibrate, and operate Trimble Total Station equipment Perform point location and stakeout per electrical drawings Record and transfer survey data using Trimble Field Link and Trimble Connect Submit daily reports and coordinate with project teams Maintain survey instruments and assigned vehicles Follow all jobsite safety standards and procedures What We’re Looking For High school diploma or equivalent Minimum 2 years of construction surveying experience Strong electrical layout and blueprint reading skills Proficiency with Trimble robotic Total Stations, leveling, and control points Experience with Trimble Field Link, Trimble Connect, Outlook, and Excel CAD and electrical installation experience is a plus Valid Florida Driver’s License with a clean driving record Ability to travel to job sites and work flexible schedules Physical & Work Environment Ability to lift up to 40 lbs Comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and terrain Ability to climb ladders, scaffolding, and perform physical jobsite tasks High attention to detail and accuracy Why This Role Competitive pay ($70K–$75K DOE) Steady project pipeline Hands-on work with modern Trimble technology Field-focused role with real impact on project success Interested candidates are encouraged to apply.
