Position DetailsPosition InformationPosition TitleNON-CREDIT ADJUNCT TEACHER/INSTRUCTORReports ToChairpersonFunctions and ResponsibilitiesJob SummarySupervisory RoleCommunity, Continuing Education, and the Workforce Development Director of On-Campus Continuing Education Adjuncts to teach various subjects - Algebra, Geometry, STEM and ELA for Middle School students (6, 7 and 8 grades)Duties & Responsibilities1. Commitment to teach during the after-school program hours.2. Ability to explain subject matter such as complex mathematical concepts and theories in a simple and clear way. Helps students develop language skills in the areas of reading, writing, speaking and listening.3. Research current trends in STEM content and instructional methods appropriate to teaching STEM to different learning styles.4. Use technology to supplement instruction and engage students.5. Assist with preparing culminating activities to be presented at the end of the program.6. Establish clear rules and expectations to keep the classroom running smoothly and without distractions to maintain a positive learning environment.7. Communicate and work with other teachers, administrators, and parents/guardians to support student success.8. Attend meetings and workshops as required.9. Bachelor's or Master's degree in Education or related area2. Teaching Certification in ELA, Reading, Mathematics and/or Science; Mathematics Certification 1900; English Certification 11063. Teaching experience in a K-12 classroom setting.4. Experience designing/creating lesson plans.Minimum Education RequirementsBachelor's DegreeLicenses and Certifications (including e.g., CPR, first aid, driver's license, etc.)Preferred QualificationsExperience (number of years), Knowledge and/or AbilitiesEducation Requirements
