Application Developer

MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented Application Developer to join our team in Chantilly, VA  The Application Developer will be dedicated full-time to development and enhancement support for existing applications as well as new development. Responsibilities include but are not limited to:Designing, programming/developing, and modifying software systems, applications, and tools, both existing and potentially new in the futureAnalyzing user needs and software requirements to determine feasibility of design within time and cost constraintsCollaborating with teammates, other service providers, vendors, and users to develop new program featuresDeveloping unit and integration tests, in addition to participating in functional and regression tests to ensure programs will produce the desired results and that instructions are correctCorrecting errors by making the appropriate changes and then re-checking the program to ensure the desired result was produced.  As well as,  reviewing help desk messages periodically and working with other teams to troubleshoot and resolve production issuesParticipating in code reviews by reviewing and incorporating feedback from teammates as well as providing feedback to others based on existing standards and recommended programming practices.Deploying code to development, test, and production environments using existing DevOps infrastructure/tools Minimum Qualifications:High School Diploma/GED with 7+ years of experience in the Information Technology fieldStrong Java programming/development skills, with hands-on experienceExperience with HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and at least one modern front-end framework, preferably AngularExperience with, or knowledge of, the Spring Framework and RESTful services and SQL, ORM libraries such as Hibernate/JPAExperience with Git branching and merging within a team to manage source code Preferred Qualifications:Strong ability to manage competing priorities and communication to multiple stakeholdersExperience with, or knowledge of, ElasticsearchExperience with, or knowledge of, best practices for developing secure web applications Clearance Requirements:An active TS/SCI with Polygraph Physical Requirements:Use hands to operate a computer and other office productivity machinery, such as a calculator, copy machine and computer printer.The person in this position needs to occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.Must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
