OB/GYN Hospitalist Job Details Position Type: Locum Tenens OB/GYN Hospitalist PhysicianLocation: Davenport, Iowa (Zip: 52803) Mississippi River city with vibrant healthcare community, scenic parks, and arts sceneHealthcare Setting: Hospital-based OB/GYN unit, Level III Trauma CenterStart Date: November 24, 2025Contract Duration: 13 weeks, with potential extensionShifts: 12-hour (8a-8p) or 24-hour (8a-8a) in-house call shifts, scheduled in advanceHours per Week: Approximately 36Coverage: Weekday and weekend shifts requiredEMR System: Cerner OB/GYN Hospitalist Qualifications Board Certified in Obstetrics and Gynecology (OB/GYN)Active Iowa medical license or IMLC eligibilityFetal monitoring proficiencyMinimum 1 year recent OB/GYN hospitalist experienceClean malpractice and background historyAbility to provide two professional references (one supervisory)Willingness to work Monday through Friday, plus weekend availability OB/GYN Hospitalist Responsibilities Triage and deliver hospital OB patients (average 65-80 deliveries/month)Respond to OB/GYN ER calls and round on unit patientsManage low and high-risk pregnancies (approx. 40% low risk, 60% high risk)Perform routine and complicated deliveries: vaginal, C-section, breech, multiple birthsConduct obstetric procedures: FHR interpretation, NST/CST/FSE, OB ultrasounds, amniocentesisPerform labor and delivery procedures: repair of 3rd/4th degree lacerations, VBACsProvide gynecologic surgical care: tubal ligation, ectopic pregnancy management, cystectomy, laparoscopic diagnosticsCollaborate with physicians, certified nurse midwives, and clinical support staff in labor & delivery, postpartum, OR, and ERDocument patient care using Cerner EMR
