We value curiosity, customer empathy, collaboration, and continuous learning.About the RoleAs a Associate Machine Learning Engineer, you will use machine learning, statistical modeling, and Natural Language Processing (NLP) to collect high-volume data for the PitchBook Platform and surface insights for the capital markets. The role requires strong analytical curiosity, a desire to learn, and a motivation to succeed.Primary Job ResponsibilitiesUse NLP and machine learning techniques to create novel views of private industry dataAnalyze and extract features from large amounts of unstructured data, determine the most relevant features, and use clustering algorithms to drive insight into the dataAnalyze textual data such as articles and conversations to identify novel signals of private company performanceWork closely with Product and Engineering teams to establish scalable, efficient, and automated processes for large-scale data analyses and modelsContribute to thought leadership on Data Science and Machine Learning best practices by staying informed of current industry trendsSupport the vision and values of the company through role modeling and encouraging desired behaviorsParticipate in various company initiatives and projects as requestedSkills and QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Statistics, or related fieldExperience in a similar production environmentExperience or exposure with NLPExperience or exposure with Python, R, or other relevant programming frameworksExperience or exposure in using SQL for data extractionStrong communication and data presentation skillsStrong problem-solving abilityAbility to communicate complex analysis in a clear, precise, and actionable mannerExperience working closely with a software development team is a plusFinancial services, investment, banking, venture capital, and/or private equity knowledge is a plusMust be authorized to work in the United States without the need for visa sponsorship now or in the futureBenefits + CompensationAnnual base salary: $110,000–$150,000Target annual bonus percentage: 7.5%Working ConditionsPitchBook is an office-first environment. The role is expected to be in the office 5 days a week with occasional travel to remote offices or meetings.
