Certified Surgical Technologist Location: State College, PA Agency: Acruex Health Pay: $1,584 to $1,728 per week Shift Information: Days - 3 days x 12 hours Contract Duration: 13 Weeks Start Date: ASAP About the Position Pay Rate: $44.00 - $48.00/Hourly. Summary: The Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) assists surgeons, registered nurses, and other surgical team members during operative procedures. The CST is responsible for maintaining a sterile field, preparing surgical instruments and supplies, and ensuring safe, efficient support before, during, and after surgery. Responsibilities: Applies knowledge of the basic concepts necessary for the performance of the duties expected of the surgical technician. Identifies medications and solutions by name, dosage, and expiration date with a registered nurse. Applies the principles of asepsis and sterile technique in a knowledgeable manner to provide optimal patient care. Performs gowning, gloving and surgical scrubbing according to medical center policy. Assists with the care, preparation and maintenance of sterile and unsterile supplies. Assists with skin preparation and draping of patient. Understands the services provided to the patient in relation to their restoration of health. Prepares and possesses knowledge of the specific uses of all equipment and supplies used for surgical procedures.
