Business Development ManagerSalary: $80,000 - $125,000 (commensurate with experience)Commission: Commission AvailableLocation: New York, NYAbout the RoleWe are seeking an entrepreneurial, relationship-focused Business Development Manager to support the growth and expansion of the firm. This role is heavily focused on maintaining and growing existing client relationships, while also supporting and pursuing new business opportunities.The ideal candidate enjoys building relationships, attending industry events, and serving as a consistent point of contact for clients. This role plays a critical part in executing business development initiatives, supporting pursuits, and ensuring continuity and follow-through across client relationships.Key ResponsibilitiesSupport and grow relationships with existing clients to drive repeat work and long-term partnershipsAssist in identifying, qualifying, and pursuing new client opportunities in alignment with firm growth goalsRepresent the firm at industry events, networking functions, charity outings, and professional gatheringsTrack, support, and respond to RFQs, RFPs, and procurement opportunities in collaboration with the Director of Business Development and the Marketing and Proposals TeamsAssist in preparing and delivering client-facing presentations and interviews, with support from Principals, Project Executives, and MarketingMaintain and update the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system with accurate lead, contact, and pursuit informationSupport strategic business development initiatives through market research, account tracking, and competitive analysisCoordinate client follow-ups, meeting notes, and next steps to ensure momentum across pursuits and active accountsServe as a brand ambassador, consistently and professionally representing the firm in the marketplaceQualificationsBachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, or a related field (or equivalent experience)5+ years of experience in business development, sales, or client-facing rolesPrior industry knowledge and familiarity with professional services, construction, engineering, architecture, or real estate-related industries preferredExisting industry relationships are a plusStrong written and verbal communication skillsExperience working with CRM platforms and proposal processesHighly organized, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple prioritiesThe Ideal Candidate...Is relationship-driven and enjoys long-term client engagementIs comfortable networking and building rapport in both professional and social settingsEnjoys attending industry and charity golf outings, networking receptions, and professional eventsIs interested in involvement with organizations such as BOMA, CoreNet Global, IFMA, and similar industry groupsIs confident, personable, and collaborativeThrives in a team-oriented environment and works well under the guidance of senior leadershipWhat We OfferCompetitive salary with commission and performance-based bonusesStandard 37.5-hour workweek; time spent attending approved business development and networking events is recognized as working timePaid memberships to relevant professional organizations (BOMA, CoreNet, IFMA, etc.)Annual networking and business development stipendFull branding package including professional photography, video, and social media supportClear growth path and advancement opportunitiesExposure to high-profile clients and projectsCollaborative, supportive team cultureComprehensive benefits package including health benefits, PTO, and paid holidays
