Science Teacher - Middle School200-day contractSeeking qualified teacher to provide science instruction at the middle school level. Length of employment is 200 days (10 months); contract renewable in accordance with School Board policy and the Code of Virginia.Closing Date: Open until filledQualifications:Hold or be eligible for licensure in Virginia with Science endorsementDemonstrated understanding of standards-based curriculum, research-based instructional strategies, and effective assessment practicesAbility to model and promote a culture of high expectations for student and staff performanceUnderstanding of continuous school improvement and Effective Schools researchAbility to disaggregate and use data to inform instructionExperience working with diverse populations, including students with disabilities, English language learners, students who live in poverty, and students who are giftedExcellent interpersonal skills and an ability to work in a collaborative/shared-leadership environment
